Ingredients
Rice & Spices
- 1 cup Rice leftover, cooked, cooled slightly
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
Aromatics & Flavorings
- 7-8 Curry Leaves fresh
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 3-4 clove Garlic minced
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil or other cooking oil
Instructions
Prepare the Spices
- Heat the vegetable oil in a kadai (wok or frying pan) over medium heat.
Sauté Aromatics
- Add the minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant. Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves. Let them splutter for about 15-20 seconds.
Add Spices and Rice
- Add the turmeric powder and red chili powder. Stir well for about 30 seconds to toast the spices.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Add the cooled leftover rice. Toss gently and thoroughly to combine everything.
Serve
