- 1/2 inch Ginger finely julienned
- 0.5 tsp Soy Sauce
- 3 tbsp Tomato Sauce
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for sauteeing
- 2 tsp Sesame Seeds white
Instructions
Marinate the Chicken Wings
- Combine red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, salt, lemon juice, curry leaves, and 1 tablespoon of oil in a bowl. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat thoroughly. Marinate for at least 1-2 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
Prepare the Chicken Wings for Frying
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cornflour and beaten egg. Add the marinated chicken wings and gently toss until evenly coated.
Fry the Chicken Wings
- Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Carefully place the coated chicken wings into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried chicken wings and set aside on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Make the Sauce
- In the same skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and julienned ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the sesame seeds for a few seconds. Add the soy sauce, tomato sauce, and honey; simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Combine and Serve
- Add the fried chicken wings to the sauce and toss gently to coat evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes on low heat to allow the flavors to meld. Serve the Andhra-style chicken wings immediately, garnished with fresh cilantro (optional), and accompanied by a side of green salad.

Expert Tips for Perfect Andhra-Style Chicken Wings
- For extra crispy wings, double fry them. After the initial frying, let them cool slightly, then fry again for a few minutes for extra crispiness.
- Adjust the amount of red chili powder according to your spice preference. Start with less and add more gradually.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the chicken wings. This will ensure even cooking and prevent the wings from steaming.
- For a richer sauce, you can add a teaspoon of butter or ghee at the end.
