Ingredients
Spices & Aromatics
- 1/4 tsp Ginger freshly grated
- 1/4 tsp Peppercorns lightly crushed, black
- 1 pinch Rock Salt
Liquids & Sweetener
- 1.5 cup Water
- 1 tsp Honey to taste, adjust to your preference
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
Tea & Sweetener (Optional)
- 1/4 tsp Tea Leaves or 1 tea bag. omit for a spice-only version., black
- 1/4 tsp Turbinado Sugar Or Jaggery optional, to taste. adjust based on honey preference.
Instructions
Prepare the Kadha
- Combine water, ginger, black peppercorns, and rock salt in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced slightly.
Add Tea (Optional)
- If using, add the black tea leaves (or tea bag) and continue to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Strain and Sweeten
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a mug.
- Add honey and lemon juice to taste.
- Stir well and enjoy warm.
