Instructions

Prepare the Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch heart-shaped cake pan. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Bake the Cake

  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Frosting

  • In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the yogurt.

Frost the Cake

  • Once the cake is completely cool, frost the top and sides with the whipped cream frosting. Decorate as desired. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
