Instructions

Marinate the Paneer

  • Cut the paneer into 1-inch cubes. In a bowl, combine the paneer with red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Coriander Paste

  • While the paneer marinates, combine the coriander leaves, green chilies, and water in a blender. Blend into a smooth, thick paste.

Sauté the Aromatics

  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened and translucent.

Cook the Sauce

  • Add the coriander paste to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oil separates from the paste. Stir in the turmeric powder and cook for another minute.

Combine and Finish

  • Add the marinated paneer cubes to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring gently, until the paneer is heated through and lightly browned. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Serve

  • Serve the Coriander Paneer hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves (optional). Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Best Coriander Paneer:

  • For a richer flavor, use full-fat paneer.
  • Adjust the amount of green chilies according to your spice preference. Start with less and add more if needed.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the paneer; cook in batches if necessary to ensure even browning.
  • For a creamier sauce, stir in a tablespoon of cream or yogurt at the end of cooking.
