Instructions

Prepare the Fish

  • Wash fish fillets thoroughly. Mix with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside.

Make the Coriander Paste

  • Combine coriander (stems and leaves), onion, garlic, green chilies, tomatoes, cumin seeds, and Kashmiri chili powder in a blender or food processor. Blend into a smooth paste.

Fry the Fish

  • Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot enough, add the marinated fish fillets and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove from pan and set aside.

Cook the Curry

  • In the same pan, sauté the coriander paste for 2 minutes until fragrant. Add ground cumin if using. Stir well.

Simmer and Combine

  • Add water, bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to a simmer for 5 minutes. Adjust salt to taste. Gently add the fried fish fillets to the curry and cook for 1 minute, ensuring the fish is heated through. Do not overcook.

Serve

  • Serve hot with rice or your preferred side dish.
