Ingredients
For the Tomato Puree
- 2 Tomatoes diced, medium-sized
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Chili Powder adjust to taste, red
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 150 ml Water
For the Tadka (Tempering)
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds zeera
- 1 Onion finely chopped, medium-sized
Other Ingredients
- 1 cup Peas fresh or frozen
- 150 gm Cottage Cheese indian cottage cheese, cubed. can be lightly fried or sautéed for extra flavor.
- 1 tbsp Ghee optional, for added richness.
- 1/4 cup Coriander chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Tomato Puree
- In your soup maker, combine diced tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and 150ml of water. Select the smooth or puree setting and blend until completely smooth.
Make the Tadka (Tempering)
- While the puree is blending, heat the oil in a small pan. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown and softened. This creates the aromatic tadka (tempering).
Combine and Cook
- Once the tomato puree is ready, add the tadka to the soup maker. Stir in the peas. Select the soup or compote setting, cooking until the sauce slightly thickens. For a richer flavour, add a tablespoon of ghee at the end of cooking.
Finish and Serve
- Add the cubed paneer to the hot gravy. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
