- Dry roast red chillies in a pan.Once cooled adding little water grind to a fine paste in a blender.
- In a pan add oil,mustard,urad dal and asafoetida to temper.
- Add chopped onions and fry till pink.Add the chilli paste and salt.
- Fry till oil leaves the sides of the pan.Squeeze lemon and switch off the stove.
- Tangy and spicy lemon chilly chutney is ready.Serve it with idlis,dosas or upma.
Recipe Notes
- You can avoid onions,if you want.
- Use sesame oil for better taste.
- Keep the consistency thin.
