Ingredients
  

  • Red Chillies-10
  • Lemon-1/2
  • Mustard-1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal-1/2 tsp
  • Onion-1
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Asafoetida-1/2 tsp

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast red chillies in a pan.Once cooled adding little water grind to a fine paste in a blender.
  • In a pan add oil,mustard,urad dal and asafoetida to temper.
  • Add chopped onions and fry till pink.Add the chilli paste and salt.
  • Fry till oil leaves the sides of the pan.Squeeze lemon and switch off the stove.
  • Tangy and spicy lemon chilly chutney is ready.Serve it with idlis,dosas or upma.

Notes

  • You can avoid onions,if you want.
  • Use sesame oil for better taste.
  • Keep the consistency thin.
