Ingredients
For the Tikkis
- 1 cup Soy Chunks dried, also known as soya granules
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 1 Potato large, boiled and mashed
- 1 tbsp Chili finely chopped, green
- 1 tbsp Coriander fresh, finely chopped (dhania)
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 2 tsp Chili Powder or to taste, red
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Breadcrumb
For Frying
- 2 tbsp Oil for shallow frying
Instructions
Prepare the Soy Chunks and Oats
- Soak the soy chunks and rolled oats in enough water for at least 30 minutes to soften.
Combine Ingredients
- Drain the soaked soy chunks and oats thoroughly. Squeeze out excess water. In a large bowl, combine the softened soy chunks, oats, mashed potato, green chili, coriander, salt, red chili powder, garam masala, and bread crumbs.
- Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Shape the Tikkis
- Form the mixture into small, flat patties (tikkis).
Fry the Tikkis
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Gently place the tikkis in the pan.
- Shallow fry the tikkis for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crisp.
Serve
- Serve the hot soya chunks and oats tikkis immediately with your favorite chutney or tomato ketchup.
