Ingredients
 

For the Coconut Mixture:

  • 1 cup Coconut freshly grated or desiccated coconut, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Sugar granulated
  • 2 tbsp Ghee clarified butter
  • 2 tbsp Milk as needed for grinding, or coconut water

For the Ladoo:

  • 50 gm Fox Nuts makhana, also known as lotus seeds
  • 1 tbsp Rose Petals dried or fresh, optional

Instructions
 

Prepare the Coconut Mixture

  • Grind shredded coconut and sugar in a food processor until finely combined. Add milk (or coconut water) as needed to achieve a smooth paste.
  • Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the coconut mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns lightly brown and fragrant.

Roast the Makhana

  • Dry roast the makhana in a separate pan until lightly browned and crunchy. Alternatively, you can microwave the makhana for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Lightly crush the roasted makhana.
  • Add the crushed makhana to the coconut mixture and cook for another 5-10 minutes, stirring continuously, until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely.

Shape the Ladoo

  • Once cooled, gently mix in the rose petals (if using).
  • Roll the mixture into small, round ladoos.
  • Store the ladoos in an airtight container at room temperature.
