Ingredients
For the Bread Coating
- 6 slices Bread whole wheat bread recommended for a healthier option. white bread can also be used.
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 cup Corn Flour also known as cornstarch
- 1 cup Water approximately, adjust to achieve desired consistency.
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For the Manchurian Sauce
- 1 medium Onion thinly sliced
- 1 medium Bell Peppers thinly sliced; any color
- 2 Chilies green, slit lengthwise
- 4 clove Garlic minced
- 1 inch Ginger minced
- 1 tbsp Chili Sauce green
- 2 tbsp Tomato Sauce hot and sweet preferred
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/4 tsp Pepper Powder optional, white
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 2 tbsp Spring Onions chopped, for garnish
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
Instructions
Prepare the Bread Coating
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, and water until a smooth, thin batter forms.
Coat and Bake the Bread
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Dip each bread slice into the batter, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Arrange the coated bread slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Once cooled, cut the bread into bite-sized squares.
Prepare the Manchurian Sauce
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
