For the Bread Coating

  • 6 slices Bread whole wheat bread recommended for a healthier option. white bread can also be used.
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Corn Flour also known as cornstarch
  • 1 cup Water approximately, adjust to achieve desired consistency.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Prepare the Bread Coating

  • In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, and water until a smooth, thin batter forms.

Coat and Bake the Bread

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Dip each bread slice into the batter, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Arrange the coated bread slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Once cooled, cut the bread into bite-sized squares.

Prepare the Manchurian Sauce

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Add the slit green chilies, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the green chili sauce, tomato sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well to combine.
  • Add salt and white pepper (if using) and simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine and Serve

  • Add the baked bread squares to the sauce. Gently toss to coat the bread evenly with the sauce.
