Ingredients
For the Filling
For the Ladoo Dough
- 200 gm Mawa
- 100 gm Desiccated Coconut
- 100 gm Sugar powdered
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 2 Betel Leaves paan
- 1/8 tsp Food Coloring green, optional
For Coating and Decoration
- 1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut
- 1 tsp Ghee for greasing
- Glazed Cherries
- Rose Petals
Instructions
- In a pan, combine the gulkand and chopped dry fruits. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens and binds together. This creates a flavorful center for your ladoos. Set aside to cool.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, combine the khoya and desiccated coconut. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring continuously to prevent burning. This gentle cooking process helps to meld the flavors and create a smooth dough.
- Finely chop the betel leaves to form a paste. Add the betel leaf paste, cardamom powder, and optional green food coloring to the khoya mixture. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, forming a dough-like consistency.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Once cooled, add the powdered sugar and mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Grease your palms with ghee to prevent sticking. Take a small portion of the dough and make a small depression in the center using your thumb.
- Place a small amount of the gulkand and dry fruit filling into the indentation. Gently roll the dough between your palms to form a smooth, round ladoo, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed.
- Roll the ladoos in desiccated coconut to coat evenly. This adds a lovely texture and enhances the visual appeal.
- Decorate the ladoos with glazed cherries and rose petals for an elegant finishing touch. Your delicious Gulkund-Stuffed Paan Ladoos are ready to be enjoyed!
