  • Gradually add water to the mixture, a little at a time, while mixing until a thick batter forms. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but still drop easily.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or kadai over medium-high heat. To test if the oil is ready, drop a small amount of batter into the oil. It should sizzle gently and rise to the surface.

  • Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Maintain the oil temperature to ensure even cooking.
  • Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Turning them ensures even browning and a satisfying crunch.
  • Once golden brown, remove the fritters from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. This helps maintain their crispiness.
  • Serve the hot, crispy Spinach and Onion Fritters immediately with your favorite green chutney for a delicious and flavorful experience.
  • Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips

  • For a richer flavor, consider using bone-in chicken thighs instead of boneless, skinless breasts.
  • Adjust the spice level to your preference by adding more or less chili powder or using a milder variety like ancho chili powder.
  • If you're short on time, you can use pre-shredded rotisserie chicken.

Storage Instructions

  • Store leftover chicken chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can also freeze the chili for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
