For Frying & Serving
- 8 Bread slices
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds rai
- 1 cup Oil for deep frying

Instructions
Prepare the Potato Filling
- Boil potatoes until tender. Peel and mash thoroughly. In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, cilantro, and curry leaves. Mix well.
Make the Gram Flour Batter
- In a separate bowl, whisk together gram flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add water, whisking continuously until a smooth, pourable batter forms. The consistency should be similar to pancake batter.
Assemble and Fry the Pakoras
- Take a slice of bread. Spread a generous layer of potato filling onto the bread slice. Top with another slice of bread and gently press to seal.
- Cut each bread sandwich into two triangles. Dip each triangle into the gram flour batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai over medium-high heat. Carefully place the battered bread pakoras in the hot oil. Fry, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove the pakoras from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve
- Serve the hot, crispy Bread Aloo Pakoras immediately with coriander chutney and tomato ketchup, if desired.

Expert Tips for Perfect Bread Aloo Pakoras
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garam masala or cumin powder to the potato filling.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when frying. Fry in batches to ensure even cooking and browning.
- If the batter is too thick, add a little more water. If it's too thin, add a little more gram flour.
- For a healthier option, you can shallow fry the pakoras instead of deep frying them.
