Ingredients
- 2 Banana grated or blended raw medium sized, washed and steamed
- 5 tbsp Semolina suji, fine
- 3 clove Garlic
- 1 tbsp Ginger chopped or sliced
- 3 Chilli green, medium hot or hot
- 1 leaf Coriander dhania, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 2 cup Oil for frying
- 1.5 tsp Salt or as per taste
- cup Semolina suji, or water water 3/4 for
- Tomato Ketchup or dip other ingredients for serving or any dip, or serving
Instructions
Prepare the Spice Paste
- Blend coriander leaves, garlic, ginger, and green chilies into a smooth paste. Add lemon juice and blend again.
Cook the Semolina
- Boil 1/2 cup of water in a saucepan. Add semolina gradually, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Remove from heat, cover, and let it sit for 5-7 minutes to soften.
Prepare the Banana
- Steam or boil the bananas until soft. Once cool enough to handle, peel and mash or puree them.
Combine Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked semolina, mashed banana, spice paste, sugar, and salt. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Add water if needed to reach a slightly thick but workable batter consistency.
Shape and Refrigerate
- Lightly oil your hands. Take small portions of the batter, and roll them into elongated finger shapes or small fritters. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up.
Fry the Fritters
- Heat oil in a deep pan or wok over medium heat. Carefully drop the banana fritters into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
Drain and Serve
