  • 250 gm Hung Yogurt also known as strained yogurt. for best results, greek yogurt, hang plain yogurt in cheesecloth for at least 4 hours to drain excess whey.
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream fresh, heavy whipping cream.

Sweeteners & Spices

  • 2 tbsp Sugar adjust to your sweetness preference. powdered sugar blends more easily.
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder optional, adds a warm, aromatic flavor.

Prepare the Hung Curd

  • Hang plain yogurt in a cheesecloth-lined colander for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to drain excess whey. This creates the creamy texture of hung curd.

Blend the Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the hung curd, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and cardamom powder (if using). Blend thoroughly using a spatula or whisk until smooth and creamy.

Add Nuts and Garnish

  • Gently fold in the chopped nuts. Transfer the Shrikhand to serving bowls or glasses. Sprinkle with desiccated coconut, coconut sugar, and cocoa powder as desired.
