Ingredients
- 2 cup Cottage Cheese paneer
- 2 cup Milk
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 spoon Arrowroot ararot
- Strawberry or topping topping
- 1 cup Strawberry
- 2 spoon Sugar
- 1 tsp Arrowroot ararot -1tsp
Instructions
Prepare the Paneer Custard
- Mix arrowroot powder with 1/4 cup of the milk in a small bowl to form a smooth slurry. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat the remaining milk over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. Do not boil vigorously.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in the sugar and vanilla extract (if using). Add the paneer, breaking it into smaller pieces. Cook, stirring frequently, until the paneer is melted and the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in the arrowroot slurry. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the custard thickens to a pouring consistency. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Prepare the Strawberry Compote
- In a separate saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the strawberries soften and release their juices (about 5-7 minutes).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the arrowroot powder and water to create a smooth slurry.
- Stir the arrowroot slurry into the strawberry mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the compote thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble and Serve
- Spoon the cooled paneer custard into individual serving dishes or a large bowl.
- Top with the cooled strawberry compote.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for optimal flavor and texture.
Recipe Notes
Expert Tips for Paneer Strawberry Delight
- For a smoother paneer custard, use a blender to fully puree the paneer before adding it to the milk mixture.
- Adjust the amount of sugar in both the custard and the compote to your liking, depending on the sweetness of your strawberries.
- If you don't have arrowroot powder, you can substitute cornstarch or tapioca starch. Adjust the amount accordingly, as they have different thickening powers.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a sprinkle of chopped pistachios for an extra touch of elegance and flavor.
