For the Simple Syrup

  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar adjust to your preferred sweetness., granulated
  • 1 1/2 cup Water

For the Lemonade

  • 1 1/2 cup Lemon Juice approximately 6-9 medium to large lemons. strain for pulp-free lemonade., fresh
  • 4 1/2 cup Water
  • 5-6 Lemon for garnish, slices
  • 5-6 Mint for garnish, sprigs
  • Ice cubes Ice for serving

Instructions
 

Make the Simple Syrup

  • Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups water in a small saucepan.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely.
  • Remove from heat and let cool. For faster cooling, place the saucepan in an ice bath or transfer to a heatproof container and refrigerate.

Juice the Lemons

  • While the syrup cools, juice enough lemons to yield 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice.
  • Strain the juice if you prefer pulp-free lemonade.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and 4 1/2 cups of cold water.
  • Stir well to mix thoroughly.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup, water, or lemon juice as needed.

Chill (Recommended)

  • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and chill.
