Instructions

Prepare the Spinach Paratha Dough

  • Mix ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste, salt, oregano, mixed herbs, cumin powder, parsley, and chopped spinach into the whole wheat flour. Add milk gradually, kneading until a soft, pliable dough forms.

Rest and Roll the Dough

  • Smear the dough with olive oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for at least 20 minutes. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle, like a chapati.

Cook the Parathas

  • Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Cook each paratha for 1-2 minutes per side, or until lightly browned and cooked through. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each paratha during the last minute of cooking.

Make the Salsa

  • Finely chop the onion, tomato, green chilies, and coriander. Combine in a bowl. Add salt, lemon juice, and ground roasted cumin seeds. Mix well.

Serve

  • Serve the hot Cheddar Spinach Parathas immediately with the zesty onion-tomato salsa.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Parathas

  • For extra flavor, use a combination of fresh and dried herbs in the paratha dough.
  • If your dough feels too dry, add a tablespoon of water or milk at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the parathas. This ensures even cooking and prevents sticking.
  • For a spicier salsa, add more green chilies or a pinch of cayenne pepper.

  1. Interesting recipe … Spinach Paratha with a twist or Italian spinach Paratha, I would say. I usually make various paratha like carrot, Spinach, broccoli where I will make and puree and knee the dough with this but I am going to try adding herbs. If my daughter is happy then this recipe is a hit. Thanks5 stars
