Basically waffle is a leavened batter or dough cooked between two plates, patterned to give a characteristic size, shape and surface impression. Waffles are eaten throughout the world, particularly in Belgium and have dozen regional varieties. Here I gave a twist to the normal waffle by using bread and lots of vegetables and cheese. You can use any vegetable of your choice

Ingredients
  

  • 8, multigrain / whole wheat bread slices
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 to mato chopped without seeds
  • Black pepper powder – to taste
  • ½ tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 th cup grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 3 tbsp boiled or frozen corn kernels
  • 12 to15, baby spinach leaves
  • 4 tbsp pizza sauce
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions
 

  • First cut the sides of each bread slice.
  • Grease waffle iron with butter and put one bread slice over it. Now spread pizza sauce and arrange vegetables over it.
  • Now Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the bread slice.
  • Now sprinkle black pepper powder and dried oregano leaves. Cover it with another bread slice
  • Cover the waffle iron and cook it for 5 minutes or until it turn golden in colour.
  • Repeat the same process to make more waffles.
  • Transfer them into a serving plate or tray and serve hot with ketchup
