Ingredients
For the Chutney
- 1 cup Coconut freshly grated
- 1/4 cup Split Chickpea split chickpeas, also known as bengal gram; roasted
- 10 leaves Curry Leaves
- 2-4 Chilies adjust to your spice preference, green
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/2 cup Water
For Tempering
- 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds black
- 1 tbsp Oil vegetable or coconut oil
Instructions
Roast the Chana Dal
- Dry roast the chana dal in a pan over medium heat until lightly browned and fragrant. Set aside to cool.
Fry the Curry Leaves
- Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and gently fry the curry leaves until crisp. Set aside.
Blend the Chutney
- Combine the roasted chana dal, grated coconut, green chilies, fried curry leaves, salt, and water in a blender.
- Blend until you achieve a smooth paste, adding more water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Temper the Chutney
