Meat & Vegetables

  • 500 gm Mutton cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 300 gm Potato peeled and cut into small pieces

Aromatics & Spices

  • 1/2 cup Oil vegetable or mustard oil recommended
  • 2.5 cups Water may need to adjust based on desired consistency

Instructions
 

Prepare the Spice Paste

  • Combine onions, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic in a blender. Blend into a smooth paste.

Sauté the Paste

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium-low heat. Add the spice paste and sauté for 7-8 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and slightly thickened.

Add Spices and Mutton

  • Stir in salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Mix well. Add the mutton and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pressure Cook the Mutton

  • Add 2 cups of water, stir to combine, and bring to a simmer. Secure the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 5 whistles. Allow the pressure to release naturally.

Add Potatoes and Pressure Cook Again

  • Carefully open the pressure cooker. Add the potatoes and 1/3 cup of water. Stir gently. Close the lid and cook for 2-3 additional whistles. Allow the pressure to release naturally.

Garnish and Serve

  • Gently stir in the chopped coriander leaves. Check seasoning and adjust if needed. Serve hot with naan, roti, rice, or your favorite side dish.
