Instructions

Prepare the Coconut Ice Cream

  • Beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form (about 2 minutes).
  • Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk and continue beating for another 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  • Gently fold in the tender coconut cream until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the ice cream mixture into a freezer-safe container, cover tightly, and freeze for at least 4-5 hours, or until solid.

Make the Edible Chocolate Bowls

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt in a double boiler.
  • Place the disposable bowls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Spoon the melted chocolate into each disposable bowl, swirling to coat the inside evenly.
  • Refrigerate for 3 minutes to set slightly.
  • Repeat the coating process for a thicker, more stable bowl.
  • Refrigerate for another 3-4 minutes, or until completely set.
  • Carefully remove the chocolate bowls from the disposable molds.

Assemble and Serve

  • Once the ice cream is frozen solid, gently scoop it into the chocolate bowls.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Coconut Ice Cream

  • For the creamiest ice cream, ensure your heavy cream is very cold before you begin whipping.
  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for the bowls; the richer the chocolate, the more intense the flavor will be.
  • If your coconut cream is too thick, you can thin it slightly with a tablespoon or two of milk or cream.
  • For an extra special touch, garnish your ice cream with toasted coconut flakes or a drizzle of extra melted dark chocolate.
