- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder also known as haldi
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida also known as hing. optional, for a pungent flavor.
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
Main Ingredients
- 2 cup Corn Kernels fresh or frozen, sweet
- 1 tbsp Groundnuts
- 1 tbsp Dill Leaves finely chopped. fresh dill is recommended.
Finishing Touches
- 2 tsp Cooking Oil vegetable oil, olive oil, or any preferred oil
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice freshly squeezed lemon juice is best.
Instructions
Preparing the Spices and Aromatics
- Heat cooking oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Then, add groundnuts, asafoetida (if using), and turmeric powder. Sauté briefly until fragrant.
Sautéing the Vegetables
- Add the finely chopped onions and sliced green chilies to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn light brown.
Cooking the Sweet Corn
- Add the sweet corn kernels to the pan and sauté for about a minute. Add salt, and sprinkle a little water. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for a couple of minutes to allow the corn to steam.
Adding Dill and Finishing
- Stir in the finely chopped dill leaves and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and add the lemon juice. Mix well.
