Ingredients
Spices and Aromatics
- 1 Bay Leaf tej patta
- 2 Cardamom Pods
- 1 Star Anise broken into pieces
- 10 Curry Leaves
Vegetables
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 2 Chilies green, sliced lengthwise
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 medium Bell Peppers capsicum, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Corn Kernels sweet
Grains and Liquids
- 1 cup Bansi Rava cream of wheat
- 2 cup Water
Seasoning and Oil
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil or any cooking oil
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
Garnish
- 1.5 leaves Curry Leaves for garnish
Instructions
Preparing the Aromatics
- Heat olive oil in a pan. Add bay leaf, cardamom pods, and star anise. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Sautéing Vegetables
- Add curry leaves, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for another 30 seconds. Add the chopped onion and sauté until light brown. Stir in the bell pepper and sweet corn kernels and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
Combining and Simmering
- Add turmeric powder and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in the water and salt. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, gradually add the Bansi rava, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, covered.
Resting and Serving
- Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh curry leaves and serve hot with your favorite chutney.
