Ingredients
For the Payesh
- 1 bowl Milk
- 1 Tbsp Semolina
- 1 Tbsp Coconut chopped, fresh
- ½ cup Cottage Cheese cubed
- ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
For Garnishing (Optional)
- 1 Tbsp Nuts chopped, mixed
- Pomegranate Seeds
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the milk to a gentle boil over medium heat. This creates the base for the payesh.
- Slowly whisk in the semolina to prevent lumps. Continue stirring regularly to ensure a smooth and creamy texture. Semolina helps thicken the payesh.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the milk has thickened slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add the chopped fresh coconut and cardamom powder. Stir well to combine. These ingredients infuse the payesh with natural sweetness and aromatic flavor.
- Gently fold in the cubed chenna. Be careful not to overmix, as this can break the chenna. Allow the payesh to simmer for another 2-3 minutes to heat the chenna through.
- Remove from heat and let the payesh cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped nuts and pomegranate seeds, if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled, as preferred.
