Ingredients
For the Spinach & Oats Tikkis
- 1/2 cup Oats rolled oats
- 1/2 cup Chickpea boiled, mashed
- 1 cup Spinach finely chopped, fresh
- 1/2 cup Cauliflower finely grated
- 1/2 cup Cottage Cheese grated, paneer
- 1 inch Ginger grated
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 tsp Carom Seeds ajwain
- 1/4 tsp Fennel Seeds saunf
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp Pepper ground black
- 1/4 cup Breadcrumb
For the Burger Assembly
- 4 Burger Buns
- 4 Tomato sliced
- 1 Bell Peppers capsicum, sliced
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Butter for toasting buns
- 2 tbsp Oil for frying tikkis
Instructions
Prepare the Tikkis
- Combine rolled oats, mashed chickpeas, spinach, grated cauliflower, grated paneer, grated ginger, flour, carom seeds, fennel seeds, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well to combine.
- Shape the mixture into 4 flat patties.
- Coat the patties with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the tikkis for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Assemble the Burgers
- Lightly butter the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them in a pan until lightly browned.
- In the same pan, sauté the sliced bell pepper for about 1 minute until slightly softened.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with sautéed bell pepper, sliced tomatoes, a spinach and oat tikki, and top with the other bun half.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
