Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana boiled kabuli
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic chopped
- 3 Chilli chopped, green
- 1.5 tsp Salt or as per taste
- 2 tsp Tahini or paste paste, roasted sesame seeds ground with oil to form a - 2 tsp
- 2 tbsp Corn Flour or maida maida
- slice Croutons or bread masala bread, or masala
- Chillies red
- Pepper
- 1.5 tsp Salt or as per taste
- Refined Oil
- 1/2 cup Hung Yogurt or dip yoghurt dip, or yoghurt
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1.5 tsp Salt or as per taste
- Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Pepper th
Instructions
Prepare the Falafel Tikkis
- Mash the boiled chickpeas in a food processor until coarsely ground. Do not puree.
- Add the chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies, salt, tahini, and cornflour to the chickpeas. Mix well to combine.
- Shape the mixture into small patties (tikkis).
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the tikkis until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Prepare the Masala Croutons
- Cut the bread slices into bite-sized pieces or desired shapes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the bread pieces until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the pan and sprinkle with red chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
Prepare the Yogurt Dip (Optional)
- In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional sugar until smooth and creamy.
Assemble and Serve
- Serve the falafel tikkis hot, with a dollop of the yogurt dip (if using) and a crispy masala crouton on top.
