Ingredients
 

Bread & Cheese

  • 8 slices Bread brown bread or multigrain bread can also be used, white
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese grated. other cheeses like mozzarella or monterey jack also work well.

Spices & Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup Chili finely chopped. adjust to your preferred spice level., green
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano dried oregano flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Other

  • 2 tbsp Butter for greasing the pan

Instructions
 

Prepare the Cheese Filling

  • In a bowl, combine the grated cheddar cheese, finely chopped green chilies, chili flakes, oregano, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare the Toast

  • Preheat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Spread a teaspoon of butter on the pan.

Toast the Bread

  • Place two slices of bread on the preheated pan. Toast for about 1 minute per side, or until lightly golden brown.

Add Cheese Filling

  • Spread approximately 1 1/2 teaspoons of the cheese mixture onto each toasted bread slice.

Melt & Crisp

  • Top with the other bread slice to create a sandwich. Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is crispy.

Serve

  • Carefully remove the toast from the pan. Cut diagonally and serve immediately. Enjoy with tomato ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce!
