Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Red Lentil (Masoor Dal) Washed
- 1 1/2 cups Water For cooking dal
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder Adjust to taste
- 3/4 tsp Salt Or as required
Instructions
Cooking the Dal
- Add masoor dal, water, turmeric powder, and salt to a pressure cooker. Pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles on medium heat until the dal is completely soft and well cooked.
- Allow pressure to release naturally and whisk the dal lightly to achieve a thin, smooth consistency.
Tempering
- Heat oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds, and let them crackle gently.
- Add red chilli powder to the tempering and pour it over the dal. Mix well.
Final Steps
- Adjust consistency with warm water if needed and serve warm.
