Instructions

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

  • Microwave the sweet potatoes for 4-5 minutes, then pierce with a fork to ensure they are tender. Allow to cool slightly before mashing thoroughly.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, cornflour, salt, pepper, onion, garlic, ginger, basil, parsley, and green chili (if using). Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Shape the Balls

  • Roll the sweet potato mixture into 1-inch balls. Lightly grease a baking sheet with butter.

Bake the Balls

  • Place the sweet potato balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.

Add Cheese & Finish Baking

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Top each sweet potato ball with a cheese slice. Return to the oven for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Serve

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with honey before serving.
