Ingredients
For the Millet Cups
- 150 gm Samak Millet finger millet
- 50 gm Butter
- 375 ml Water
For the Fruit Filling
- 1 Apple chopped, medium
- 1 Banana sliced
- 1 cup Grapes green, or a mix, red
- 0.5 tsp Cumin Seeds also known as jeera
- 0.5 tsp Chili Powder or to taste; also known as mirch
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Coriander chopped, for garnish
- 1/4 tsp Salt or to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Millet
- Heat a pan and dry roast the samak millet for 2 minutes. Transfer the roasted millet to a pressure cooker. Add water (1:4 ratio of millet to water) and cook until 3 whistles.
Shape the Millet Cups
- Lightly grease oven-safe molds with butter. Press the cooked millet into each mold, shaping them into small cups.
Bake the Millet Cups
- Bake the millet cups in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Prepare the Fruit Filling
- In a bowl, combine the chopped apples, sliced bananas, and grapes. Add cumin seeds, chili powder, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.
Assemble and Garnish
- Fill each baked millet cup with the fruit filling. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
