Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • Combine ginger paste, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, clarified butter, and salt in a bowl. Mix well to form a smooth paste.

Marinate the Paneer

  • Add the paneer cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (longer is better for deeper flavor).

Shallow Fry the Paneer

  • Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Carefully add the marinated paneer cubes and shallow fry, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. This should take about 8-10 minutes.

Serve Your Delicious Tawa Paneer

  • Remove the cooked paneer from the pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with green chutney, raw onion slices, and lemon wedges, if desired.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Tawa Paneer

  • For extra crispy paneer, pat the cubes dry with a paper towel before marinating and frying.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the paneer. Work in batches to ensure even browning and crisping.
  • If you don't have clarified butter (ghee), you can substitute with regular butter or oil, but ghee adds a richer flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of chili powder according to your preference for spiciness.
