Ingredients
Paneer and Vegetables
- 250 gm Cottage Cheese
- 1/2 Bell Peppers capsicum, finely chopped
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 4-5 clove Garlic
- 3 Chilies finely chopped, green
Sauce and Spices
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Soup Powder for thickening, optional, or cornstarch
Garnish (Optional)
- 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup Or Sauce
- Carrots to taste, grated
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a medium-sized skillet or kadai over medium-high heat. Add the paneer cubes and fry until golden brown and slightly crispy. This creates a wonderful textural contrast. Transfer the fried paneer to a separate plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped bell pepper and sauté for a minute until slightly softened. Then, add the finely chopped onions, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Add the salt, chili powder, and turmeric powder to the skillet. Sauté for another minute until fragrant, allowing the spices to bloom.
- If using soup powder or cornstarch for a thicker sauce, whisk it with a little water to form a slurry. Add this slurry to the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Return the fried paneer to the skillet. Gently toss to coat the paneer with the flavorful sauce. Cook for another minute to heat through.
- Serve the Chili Paneer hot, garnished with grated carrots and a dollop of tomato ketchup, if desired.
