Ingredients
 

For the Hibiscus Syrup

  • 1 cup Hibiscus dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1/2 cup Palm Sugar or substitute with granulated sugar or honey
  • 1 cup Water

For the Lemonade

  • 1 cup Mint fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice freshly squeezed is best
  • 3 cup Water chilled water for serving
  • Ice cubes Ice ice cubes for serving

Instructions
 

Prepare the Hibiscus Syrup

  • Combine dried hibiscus flowers, palm sugar, and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the liquid is deeply colored and slightly thickened.

Strain and Cool

  • Remove from heat and strain the hibiscus syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a heat-safe container. Let it cool completely.

Make the Lemonade

  • In a pitcher, muddle the fresh mint leaves gently. Add the cooled hibiscus syrup, lemon juice, and 3 cups of chilled water. Stir well to combine.

Serve

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade over the ice. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint (optional). Serve immediately and enjoy!
