Ingredients
For the Vada Batter
- 250 gm Corn Kernels fresh, from about 2 ears of corn
- 2 Bananas about 300g; partially boiled, raw
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 tsp Asafoetida hing
- 1/4 cup Raisins
- 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/4 cup Coriander finely chopped
For the Yogurt Mixture
- 300 gm Yogurt curd
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 5 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste sonth chattini
For Garnishing
- 1/4 cup Pomegranate Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder jeera
- 1/4 tsp Pepper Powder black
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1 cup Oil for frying
Instructions
Prepare the Vada Batter
- Grind the fresh corn kernels and partially boiled raw bananas with milk until a smooth paste forms. Transfer this paste to a bowl and mix in the asafoetida, raisins, salt, and chopped coriander.
Fry the Vadas
- Shape the batter into small, flat vadas. Heat oil in a pan and carefully fry the vadas on medium-low heat until golden brown and cooked through.
Prepare the Yogurt Mixture
- In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. If desired, you can strain the yogurt to achieve a creamier consistency. Stir in the sugar.
Soak and Serve
- Once the vadas are cooked, add them to the sugar-yogurt mixture and let them soak for about 5 minutes. Garnish with pomegranate seeds, cumin powder, black pepper powder, chaat masala, and ginger-garlic paste. Serve immediately and enjoy!
