Ingredients
For the Pasta
- 1 cup Semolina suji
- 2.5 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil for cooking pasta
For the Sauté
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds jeera, optional
- 3 clove Garlic minced
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 medium Tomato chopped
- 1 medium Bell Peppers capsicum, chopped
- 1 tsp Chili Flakes red
- 1 tbsp Pepper black, or to taste
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil for garnish, optional
Instructions
Prepare the Suji Pasta
- Cook 2.5 cups of water in a saucepan. Add the semolina and 1 tbsp of oil to prevent sticking. Stir occasionally and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the semolina is cooked through but still slightly firm. Drain well and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables
- Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds (if using) and let them sizzle for a few seconds. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the chopped onion, tomato, and bell pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.
Combine and Finish
- Add the cooked semolina to the pan with the vegetables. Stir in the red chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine.
- Sauté for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Drizzle with olive oil (optional) and sauté for 1 more minute.
Serve
