Ingredients
- 1/2 cubes Cottage Cheese paneer
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Pav Bhaji Masala
- 1/2 tsp Coriander dhania
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala th
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Leaves kasuri methi
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1.5 tsp Salt or as per taste
- Refined Oil
Instructions
Prepare the Onion and Aromatics
- Heat the oil in a pan or pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Build the Flavorful Gravy
- Stir in the tomato puree, all the powdered spices (Pav Bhaji Masala, coriander, chili powder, garam masala, and turmeric), and salt. Cook, stirring frequently, until the masala leaves oil and the oil separates from the gravy. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
Incorporate the Aromatic Herbs and Milk
- Add the Kasuri Methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Pour in the milk (or cream), bring to a gentle simmer, and let it cook for a few minutes until the gravy thickens slightly.
Add the Paneer and Finish
- Carefully add the paneer cubes to the gravy. Gently stir to coat the paneer evenly. Check the seasoning and adjust salt as needed. Cook for 2-3 minutes more, allowing the paneer to heat through. Do not overcook.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve your delicious Pav Bhaji Masala Paneer hot with naan, roti, or rice. Garnish with fresh cilantro (optional).
Recipe Notes
Expert Tips for the Perfect Pav Bhaji Masala Paneer:
- For a richer flavor, use ghee instead of vegetable oil.
- Adjust the amount of chili powder to control the spice level to your preference.
- Don't overcook the paneer; it should be soft and tender, not hard or dry.
- If the gravy is too thick, add a little water or milk to adjust the consistency. If it is too thin, simmer uncovered for a few minutes longer.
