Instructions

  • Squeeze orange juice from the oranges and keep aside.
  • Boil water in a saucepan.
  • Add sugar and tea leaves into the boiling water. Boil for 2 minutes and switch off the gas and cover the pan with a lid for couple of minutes.
  • Strain the tea decoction in a pitcher and allow to cool it.
  • Now add the orange juice into the pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Take two glasses and add ice cubes into them.
  • Now pour the cold orange tea into the glasses.
  • Add orange slice and mint sprig to each glass and serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Instead of tea leaves one can also use tea bags for making the tea decoction.

Additional Tips

  • For an extra burst of citrus flavor, add a few strips of orange zest to the hot tea while steeping, then strain before chilling.
  • Swap out sugar for honey or agave syrup for a different sweetness profile that pairs well with the orange notes.
  • If you prefer a more pronounced tea flavor, use cold brew tea bags and steep overnight in the refrigerator for a smoother, less astringent taste.
  • Garnish each glass with a slice of orange and a sprig of fresh mint for a visually appealing and aromatic presentation.
