Ingredients
For the Vegetable Filling
- 250 gm Potato mashed
- 100 gm Cottage Cheese
- 150 gm Peas boiled and mashed, green
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds roasted
- 1 tsp Pepper black, ground
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For Coating
- 50 gm Butter melted, salted
- 10 gm Puffed Rice crushed
- 5 gm Vermicelli
For Serving (Optional)
- 1 Coriander for garnish
- 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 cup Chutney green
Instructions
Prepare the Vegetable Filling
- Roast the cumin seeds until fragrant. Grind them coarsely.
- Mash the boiled potatoes thoroughly.
- In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, mashed green peas, roasted cumin powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to form a thick paste.
Shape and Coat the Chops
- Take a small portion of the vegetable mixture and form it into a small ball (about 1 inch in diameter).
- Roll the ball in the mashed green pea mixture to create a thin coating.
- Then, roll it in the mashed potato mixture to create another layer.
- Dab some melted butter onto the ball.
- Roll the buttered ball in the crushed puffed rice until fully coated.
Final Coating and Baking
- Mix the remaining melted butter with the vermicelli.
- Coat the puffed rice-covered balls with the vermicelli-butter mixture.
- Optional: Decorate the chops to resemble birds (see image).
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the chops for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
Garnish and Serve
- Garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve hot with tomato sauce and green chutney.
