Instructions

  • Soak the almonds in warm water for 4-5 hours to soften them. This makes them easier to blend into a smooth mixture.

  • In a saucepan, bring the milk to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and add the chocolate flavored green tea. Remove from heat and let the tea steep for a few minutes to infuse the milk. Strain the milk and discard the tea leaves. Let the milk cool to room temperature.
  • Drain the soaked almonds and add them to the cooled green tea infused milk. Add the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Blend the mixture until smooth.

  • Add the bourbon biscuits to the blender and pulse until they are finely crushed and incorporated into the mixture.
  • Place a small amount of chocolate chips at the bottom of each candy mold. Pour the green tea and biscuit mixture over the chocolate chips, filling each mold almost to the top.

  • Freeze the candy mixture for about 1 hour to allow it to partially set. Insert a candy stick into the center of each mold. Return the molds to the freezer for at least 4-5 hours, or until the candies are completely solid.
  • Remove the frozen treats from the molds. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Good To Know

  • To easily unmold the candies, fill a large bowl with water. Submerge the candy molds for a few seconds, gently rotating the candy stick. Unmold and enjoy immediately.
  • For a marbled effect, swirl the green tea and chocolate layers with a toothpick before the mixture sets.
  • Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the candies while the chocolate is still soft for a salty-sweet contrast.
  • Toast the almonds before adding them to the mixture for enhanced crunch and flavor.

Expert Tips

  • Experiment with different types of chocolate, such as dark, milk, or white chocolate, to create unique flavor combinations.
  • If using silicone molds, place them on a baking sheet before filling to make them easier to handle and transfer.
  • Consider adding a touch of vanilla extract or other flavorings to complement the green tea and chocolate.

Storage Instructions

  • Store the candies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain their texture and prevent melting.
