Add Garlic and Onion

  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.

  • Add the dried okra to the pan and stir to coat well with the spices. Cover the pan and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Finishing Touches

  • Add salt and fresh coriander leaves. Gently stir in the lemon juice. Do not overcook. Turn off the heat and let the flavors meld for a few minutes.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Perfect Lahsun Bhindi

  • For less slimy okra, you can blanch the okra in boiling water for a minute before adding it to the pan.
  • Adjust the amount of green chilies according to your spice preference. Start with less and add more as needed.
  • Don't overcook the okra! Overcooked okra will become mushy and lose its flavor.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of garam masala along with the other spices.
