Ingredients

- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour maida
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1/4 cup Water or as needed to form a soft dough
- 2 tbsp Ghee for frying
For the Milk Mixture
- 1 ltr Milk
- 1/4 cup Sugar adjust to taste
- 1/4 cup Cashews chopped
- 1/4 cup Almonds chopped
- 1/4 cup Chironji (also known as charoli seeds)
- 1/4 cup Pistachios chopped
- 2 tbsp Rose Water for added aroma, optional
For Garnish
- 8-10 Rose Petals or chopped nuts
Instructions
Prepare the Flour Balls
- Combine all-purpose flour and cardamom powder in a bowl. Gradually add water, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms.
Cook the Flour Mixture
- Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the flour dough and cook, stirring continuously, until it thickens into a halwa-like consistency. Remove from heat and let cool.
Shape the Balls
- Once cooled, roll the mixture into small, marble-sized balls.
Fry the Balls
- Heat ghee in a separate pan over low heat. Carefully fry the flour balls in batches until they turn golden brown. This takes approximately 15 minutes per batch. Remove and drain excess ghee.
Prepare the Milk Mixture
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring full-fat milk to a boil. Add sugar, and chopped nuts. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Combine and Finish
- Add the fried flour balls to the simmering milk mixture. Cook for another 5-8 minutes. Stir gently to prevent sticking. Remove from heat and stir in rose water (optional).
Serve
- Garnish with rose petals or chopped nuts. Serve warm or chilled.
