Ingredients
 

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup gm Sesame Seeds also known as til. white or black sesame seeds can be used.
  • 1/2 cup gm Jaggery grated or powdered. adjust to your desired sweetness.
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom finely ground. cardamom powder

Additions

  • 2 tbsp Coconut grated. grated fresh coconut can also be used. desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp Cashews chopped. optional; you can also use melon seeds or other nuts.
  • 1-2 tbsp Clarified Butter adds richness and helps bind the laddu. ghee

Instructions
 

Prepare the Sesame Seeds

  • Wash the sesame seeds thoroughly and spread them on a clean cloth or tray. Dry them completely in the sun for an hour or use a fan for about an hour if no sun is available. Ensure they are completely dry before proceeding.

Dry Roast the Sesame Seeds

  • Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan or on a griddle over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

Grind and Mix

  • Grind the roasted sesame seeds into a coarse powder. Add the grated jaggery and cardamom powder. Grind again until well combined. Transfer this mixture to a bowl.

Combine and Shape

  • Add the desiccated coconut, chopped cashews (or your preferred nuts/seeds), and optional ghee to the sesame-jaggery mixture. Mix well to combine. Roll the mixture into small balls (laddu) of your desired size.

Set and Enjoy

  • Let the laddu sit for at least an hour to allow them to firm up. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7-10 days.
