Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour whole
- 1 Tbsp Coconut grated
- 1 Tbsp Raisins
- 1 Tbsp Melon Seeds
- 1 tsp Coconut Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Pepper black, ground
- 1/8 tsp Cinnamon ground
- 1/8 tsp Cardamom ground
- 1-2 tsp Salt or to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chestnut puree, mashed banana, grated coconut, raisins, melon seeds, coconut sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until a thick batter forms. A slightly sticky consistency is ideal for these flatbreads.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the hot surface, leaving some space between each flatbread.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip the flatbreads when bubbles start to appear on the surface.
- Serve the warm flatbreads immediately. They are delicious on their own or with a dollop of yogurt or a drizzle of honey.
Recipe Notes
Expert Tips
- For a richer flavor, consider using bone-in chicken thighs instead of boneless, skinless breasts. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Customize the spice level by adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to the marinade.
- If you're short on time, you can skip the marinating step, but the flavor will be less intense.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
