Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour whole
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
Sweetener & Nuts
- 3/4 cup Jaggery grated, you can adjust to your desired sweetness
- 1 tbsp Almonds finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Pistachios finely chopped
Fat
- 5 tbsp Ghee use good quality ghee for best flavor
Other
- 1 Non-Stick Pan
- 1 Thali lightly greased, large plate
- 1 Bowl for spreading the mixture, small
Instructions
Prepare the Gud Papdi
- Melt the ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat.
- Add the whole wheat flour and sauté continuously for 10-12 minutes, or until it turns a light golden brown. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
- Remove from the heat. Add the grated jaggery and cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly until the jaggery melts completely and the mixture is well combined.
- Stir in the chopped almonds and pistachios.
- Pour the mixture into a lightly greased thali (large plate) and spread it evenly using the base of a small bowl.
- Allow the Gud Papdi to cool slightly before cutting it into square pieces while still warm.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Enjoy!
