Instructions

  • Press chopped grapefruits and carrots through a juice extractor.
  • Also throw in chopped ginger. Stir black salt according to taste and pour it in two serving glasses.
  • Chill it for a while in the refrigerator before serving or add some ice cubes to enjoy it instantly.

Recipe Notes

The best part in this juice is that there is absolutely no trace of sugar. As a matter of fact, this fruit already contains sugar and other minerals plus nutrients that are beneficial in more ways than one. Addition of salt makes it a bit peppy and very very delicious.

Additional Tips

  • For an extra spicy kick, add a small piece of fresh green chili or a pinch of cayenne pepper before blending, which pairs surprisingly well with the sweetness of carrot and the tang of grapefruit.
  • If you prefer a smoother juice, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth after blending to remove excess pulp, especially if your blender cannot fully process fibrous carrot pieces.
  • Chill your glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving; this keeps the juice colder longer and enhances the refreshing experience, especially on hot days.
  • For a savory variation, stir in a splash of fresh lime juice and garnish with a sprig of cilantro or mint, adding an herbaceous note that balances the citrus and spice.
