- 2 tsp Flax Egg
- 2 tsp Caramelized Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves minced
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Chili Sauce red
- 2 tsp Oil for frying
Burger Toppings & Assembly
- 2 Tbsp Kimchi
- Avocados sliced
- Arugula or lettuce leaves
- Burger Buns
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked red beans, flax egg, caramelized onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, red chili sauce, and salt.
- Thoroughly mash the red bean mixture until well combined. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty.
- Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the red bean patties in the hot skillet. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until a golden-brown crust forms. This creates a delicious crispy exterior.
For assembling the burger
- Place the bottom halves of the burger buns on a serving plate. Layer each bun with sliced avocado and fresh arugula.
- Top with the crispy red bean patties. Spread a generous amount of kimchi over each patty. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- For the flax egg: Powder 2-3 teaspoons of flaxseeds in a grinder. Mix with 2-3 tablespoons of water and let it stand for 20-25 minutes.
Expert Tips
- For a richer flax egg, use golden flaxseeds. They have a slightly milder flavor than brown flaxseeds.
- Ensure the flaxseed meal is finely ground for a smoother texture. If needed, sift it after grinding.
- Adjust the flaxseed meal to water ratio as needed. A thicker flax egg will provide more binding power.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

What a great recipe! Thanks for sharing.
I dont understand the necessity of adding flax eggs.. Without adding it too the patty can be made.. for binding. Boiled potato or all purpose flour or rice flour or flattened rice can be added.. Which will give crispy outer layer to the patty. Are theburger buns used are vegan?
