Recipe Notes
Expert Tips for Perfect Mushroom Fried Rice
- Use day-old rice: Day-old rice is drier and less likely to become mushy when stir-fried. If using freshly cooked rice, spread it out on a baking sheet to cool and dry slightly before adding it to the wok.
- Don't overcrowd the wok: Overcrowding will lower the temperature and result in steaming instead of stir-frying. Work in batches if necessary.
- High heat is key: Maintain a high heat throughout the cooking process to achieve that signature stir-fried texture and prevent the vegetables from becoming soggy.
- Get creative with veggies: Feel free to experiment with other vegetables like peas, corn, or snow peas. Adapt the recipe to your liking and what's in season!
